The Materials & Brands We Use for Aircon Installation

Premium units · R32 gas · 4–5 tick efficiency · No GST · 2-year workmanship warranty

A new aircon is only as good as what's hidden behind your wall. A premium unit on cheap piping and thin insulation still drips, leaks gas and drives up your bill within a few years. At aircons.sg we install proper materials on every job — here's exactly what goes in.

The units we install

We install all major brands. For most homes we recommend Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) inverter systems — reliable, quiet and efficient — but we also install Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic and others. Tell us your preference, or we'll advise based on your rooms and budget.

  • Inverter technology — smooth, quiet running that holds your set temperature without the on/off cycling of older units
  • R32 refrigerant — more efficient and far kinder to the environment than older R410A / R22 gas
  • 4 to 5 NEA ticks — high energy-efficiency ratings that keep your monthly electricity bill down
  • Wi-Fi ready — control your aircon from your phone on supported models
  • System 1 to System 4+ — single splits, or multi-split systems sized room-by-room (9,000 / 18,000 / 24,000 / 32,000 BTU) so each space gets the right cooling

Premium materials — standard on every install

These are the parts you never see but that decide how long your system lasts. We use them as standard, not as a paid upgrade.

MaterialWhy it matters to you
½" Armaflex SHIELD insulation High-grade closed-cell insulation wrapped around every copper pipe. Stops condensation and ceiling dripping, holds in the cold for lower bills, and resists UV and weather on exposed runs. Thicker and tougher than the thin insulation many installers use.
22 SWG copper piping Thick-gauge, full-copper refrigerant pipes that handle system pressure and resist corrosion — not the thin or part-aluminium piping that leaks gas over time.
Sigma cables Quality electrical cabling rated for the load, for a safe, stable connection between the indoor and outdoor units.
16mm concealed drainage pipe Correctly-sized drainage, concealed for a clean finish, so condensation drains away properly instead of backing up and dripping into your home.

How we install

  • Free site survey — we confirm indoor-unit positions, trunking layout and pipe runs with you first
  • New copper piping run neatly above the ceiling, with concealed drainage where possible
  • Wall and tile hacking and drilling carried out in line with MOM & BCA safety rules and regulations
  • Full testing and commissioning before we hand over — we don't leave until it's cooling properly
  • Dismantle and dispose of your old aircon (we can set it aside if you'd like to keep it)
  • Handover of warranty cards and remote controllers directly to you

🛡 Manufacturer warranty

  • 1 year on spare parts
  • 5 years on the compressor

🛠 aircons.sg workmanship warranty

  • 2 years on piping & installation workmanship
  • Includes labour and transport for any workmanship call-back

Workmanship warranty covers our installation work. It does not cover normal wear and tear, or condensation/sweating/staining caused by room conditions.

Good to know before we start

  • Please protect or clear flooring, doors and furniture near the work areas — installation involves drilling and hacking.
  • Try to be present so you can confirm unit positions and receive your warranty cards and remotes.
  • If the site isn't ready (renovation, painting or electrical works unfinished) and we can't mount or test the system, a return-trip fee applies — we'll always flag this before a second visit.

Frequently asked questions

What aircon brands do you install?
We install all major brands. We particularly recommend Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) inverter systems for their reliability and efficiency, but we also install Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic and others — tell us your preference or we'll advise based on your rooms and budget.
Why do installation materials matter more than the aircon itself?
A premium aircon on cheap piping and thin insulation still fails early — you get condensation dripping, gas leaks and higher bills within a few years. The pipes, insulation, cabling and drainage hidden behind your wall decide how long the system lasts. That is exactly where we don't cut corners.
What refrigerant do you use, and why R32?
We install R32 systems. R32 is more energy-efficient and has a far lower global-warming impact than older R410A or R22 gas, so it cools better for less electricity and is the current standard for new installations in Singapore.
What do the ticks mean?
The green ticks are NEA's energy-efficiency rating — more ticks means lower running cost. The systems we install are 4 to 5 ticks (inverter), which keep your monthly electricity bill down versus older non-inverter units.
What warranty do I get?
Two layers. Manufacturer warranty: 1 year on spare parts and 5 years on the compressor. On top of that, aircons.sg gives a 2-year workmanship warranty on the piping and installation, including labour and transport, so if anything about our workmanship goes wrong we come back and fix it.
Do I need to be home during installation?
We strongly recommend it. You confirm the final indoor-unit positions and trunking layout with our team, and you receive the warranty card and remote controllers directly. Installation involves hacking, drilling and wall works, so being present avoids surprises.
How much does installation cost?
Single split systems start from $1,200 and a full HDB system from $2,800 — no GST charged. Larger homes, landed properties and premium brands are quoted after a free site survey so the price is exact. WhatsApp 9107 2601 for a quote.
